Starting Point at Rickety
Bridge Winery, Franshhoek 09:30 and
14:00
A 3-4 hour trip which takes you through vineyards,
orchards and forest.
We stop at a wine estate for tasting before heading up
Matoppie, a mountain that climbs to 2176 ft . The tracks
lead between the mountain fynbos to one of the most breathtaking
views the valley has to offer.
A bird's eye view of the newly built Berg River dam, surrounded
by Wemmerhoek mountain range. A view seen by few. Here
we stop for refreshments and snacks. We then meander down
the southern side and partake in yet another wine tasting
and vineyard tour, before heading home to slightly more
civilized surroundings.
